That sounds like a Windows message.
My first guess is that you need to tell Windows that you are on a "private network".
- Network and Internet settings
- Network Status
- Change Connection Properties
- Network Profile
- Private

My Ethernet does show up as Public but the method to change it to Private you showed in the previous reply isn't working. I followed all the way up "Network Status" and once I click on "Change Connection Properties" It just brings me to the Unidentified network under the ethernet connection with no option to change the network from public to private. I clicked on "Troubleshooting" in the "Network Status" window and it came up with the problem. "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP Configuration" Not fixed.

Here is another way in, from the notification area, right click the Internet/Network icon and go to Open Network & Internet settings.
Windows Network Status
Click the Ethernet icon and then change the Network profile.
I assume that your Ethernet works as expected on the local network. If not, you may have to fix that first. For example, you may have to check the drivers for your PC's Ethernet.
