Using both RJ45 ports on NETGEAR Powerline Adapter 2000

Hi,

I just installed a PL2000 which seems to be working fine.  If I want to use both ethernet ports on the downstream end, do I need to use both ethernet ports on the upstream end as well?

IE, do the adaptors have sort of a 2 port switch in them, or is each port hard wired from transmitter to receiver? if I'm connected to clients on the PL2000 downstream, can I just use one patch cable on the upstream end to plug into my switch?

Thanks!

In my experience, no. The manual agrees with me.

If you visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

you can feed in the model number and find all the documentation for your hardware.

You can find the model number on the label on the device. Try PLP2000 (see your footer) rather than PL2000, which doesn't seem to exist

I'd usually expect to see a plug with a single LAN port connected to the router. The extra port on the "host" plug is redundant.
