Using both RJ45 ports on NETGEAR Powerline Adapter 2000

Hi,   I just installed a PL2000 which seems to be working fine.  If I want to use both ethernet ports on the downstream end, do I need to use both ethernet ports on the upstream end as well?   IE...

In my experience, no. The manual agrees with me.

 

If you visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

you can feed in the model number and find all the documentation for your hardware.

You can find the model number on the label on the device. Try PLP2000 (see your footer) rather than PL2000, which doesn't seem to exist

 

I'd usually expect to see a plug with a single LAN port connected to the router. The extra port on the "host" plug is redundant.
