WGX102 - no internet access on IPv6 Connectivity
My Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender WGX102 has been working fine but the PCs and Macs that access the extended network on the internet have gone very slow to the extent the internet is virtually unusable on these.
The first two lights for power/home plug are lit and the third light flashes on both the devices pluged into the walls. I first tried turning off everything, the PCs/Macs/router and WGX102/XE102 thinking that it might simply reset itself once turned back on in the right sequence but to no avail.
Then I looked on the Wireless Netowrk Connection status and notices it says
IPv4 Connectivity Internet
IPv6 No Internet Access
Signal quality of the extended netork is good - just very poor internet access over the extended network its gone like the old days of trying to connect with a dial up modem.
Our ISP was Pipex who has been taken over several times and we are now with Talk talk, we keep getting letters from the latter that various parts of the system have now migrated to Talk Talk so I am wondering if this has caused an issue. In the connection summary all the info seems to be OK
with various numbers against the IPV4 Address and Subnet mask.
Any ideas as I didn't set up the extended network, have limited PC skills and am relunctant to set the reset button on WGX102 to restore the Default Configuration but everyone's on my back to get this fixed any ideas:confused:

- PamsharesAspirant:) Hi everyone, lots of views on this but no replies as yet, Can anybody help and suggest what I need to check or some instructions to get the extended networking working at its normal speed again?
- fordemMentorThis is probably not want you want to hear but ...
IF the internet "useability" on the main network is good, and the "unuseable" portion is connected via the WGX102 then the problem either relates to the wall plug bridge or the wireless sections.
If you have wireless on the main network - that is that does NOT pass through the wall plug - and that is working properly, then the problem may lie with the wall plug segment.
The simple reality of things is that wall plug networks are notoriously unreliable because of their sensitvity to electrical interference - the mains network was designed to distribute electrical power, not to pass data, and any appliance that generates interference on that network, which by the way doesn't have to be located in your building, can impact the data transfer. - PamsharesAspirantThanks for the message, what would you recommend as easy alternative to wall plugged wireless network extender?
thanks - fordemMentorEthernet cable?
When reliabilty is what's needed, hardwire is the only thing that works - wireless would be my next option (and I use wireless for convenient mobility) and wall plugged a very distant third.
