I am about to just switch to another brand of powerline device as well. After days of going back and forth with Netgear tech support, they are simply not helping to resolve my problem.
Now they are trying to say that my device may be bad and they need to find out if it is under warranty, etc... The device worked just fine before the firmware upgrade (which failed). All that I want to do is either reload the older firmware or force a reload of the current firmware!!!! Apparently, you can no longer load previous versions of the firmware or force a reload of the current firmware anymore! What BS!! The old software provided this option! If they would just supply the damn firmware .bin files, I think I'd be just fine.
Time to move on to a different brand....
