XAV101 not passing iTunes Sharing

From what I recall, iTunes home sharing will only work on a LAN and not a WAN. I wonder if perhaps iTunes thinks he powerline networking is a WAN rather than a LAN and so disables itself.
I have some adapters coming soon and I will give iTunes home sharing a try when I have them up and running and will report back what I find
