XAV5004 doesn't always come out of standby

I have a similar problem with the XAV5004 not waking up properly:
XAV5001 (v2.1.1CE) next to Broadband Router
XAV5004 (v2.0.9CE) downstairs connected to a PVR
The PVR can connect without a problem to the internet initially. But once the XAV5004 has gone into standby mode, even though the XAV5004 appears to wake up (LEDs come on), the PVR can no longer connect to the internet. It doesn't matter what I do with the PVR (restart, reconfigure network connection, etc.). The only thing that helps is unplugging and reconnecting the XAV5004.
This is very frustrating, since the PVR needs regular (daily) internet access to contact an internet server for scheduling updates.
I have another XAV5001 and never have problems, despite it being unused for long periods (days).
I have raised a ticket with Netgear support - let's see what happens...
