XAV6501/XAV6504 Internet speed problem
Hi all,
I have two 600MB netgear powerlines (XAV6501 and XAV6504) to bring Internet from the living room to the office room on an apartment and it have been working well with speeds around 90/90MB on speedtest.net with 100/100MB hired with the ISP.
But recently i have upgraded my Internet speed to 200/100MB with the ISP, but the speed on the powerline still maintains on 90/90MB with speedtest.net. If I connect the laptop directly to the router I have 200/100MB and also using the same cable connected to the powerline on the living room. I have already done a factory reset and all three leds are solid green. Cannot find any firmware upgrade available on Netgear site. If i place the second powerline in the same divison the speed are identical (90/90MB), so no electrical issues in this case. Both powerlines are connected with the gigabit port, and are conected to the wall sockets.
So I really dont know what else I can do.
Thanks in advance.

Check the specifications for the LAN ports on the XAV6501. 100BASE-Tx.Not bad for plugs that came out in 2013.
That limits the speed of anything you put on the network. So 90 Mbps is about what you would expect, given the usual overheads. Your plugs are now slower than your Internet service.
Newer Powerline plugs have LAN ports at 1000BASE.
