XET1001: Slower than Wireless??

I've seen similar issues posted across the site, but none that seem to provide resolution(s), so I'm hoping someone can help me out. I just picked up a few refurbished XET1001 off of NewEgg to try out. I'm using Verizon FiOS (15 down/5 up), and everything else is configured correctly. I connected my Mac to the XET1001, and went onto Speedtest.net, only to get 3 down and 5 up??? My wireless gives me a consistent 12/5. Anyone know what the issue may be and how to resolve it?

Thanks for your time and assistance.

  • I too have a slow connection. I am using Comcast and have a 60M download speed. Using speedtest.net I have very good connection.
The encryption software states the speed on the remote unit is ~36M, however, when I connect a laptop to that unit and run the same speedtest, I have download speed of 1.5M and upload of 5M.
What gives? A far cry from the 85M claim. House is less than 10 years old so I don't think wiring is a problem.
    Any help/tips would be appreciated.
  • Same issue here.

Wireless connection is 15Mbps down, 2.5Mbps up.

Net Gear power adapters, 2Mbps down, 2.5Mbps up.

Funny how only the download speeds are slow with my units. I guess I'll return them.
