1200 Powerline

I am getting a faster speed test results from my wifi than I am through my $100 LAN connection through PL 1200. From 60 down to 30. I want over 100. Any idea why this is??

Powerline is sensitive to interference. Things that can impact its speed:

Distance. it might only be 1 outlet away but if its on a difference circuit, it has to go back to junction box and then to the other device.

    Old/bad/poorly installed wiring/outlets.

Electronics poorly made or going bad can inject interference.

    Arc fault breakers

    Surge protectors

    GFCI outlets

Some cell phone charges inject interference

    high draw appliances

An easy test? put the 2 units on the same circuit with nothing else hooked up. If they work fine, its something within the home causing issues. You can troubleshoot to see if its a device causing the issue. Its a challenge because basically you have to unhook everything and gradually add device back in until you see which causes the inferference.
