A6150

I just received the A6150 from Amazon, and while my speeds have improved from my basic computer adapter I'm not getting near anywhere where advertized.

I downloaded the latest driver and reset. I have verified that full power is going to the adapter.  I have spectrum internet, to modem, to google nest wifi. I routinely get 400+ Mbps down on my phone. Specifications online say this adapter is capable of getting 1200 mbps down so I was expecting to at least get near what my phone is capable of wifi.

What can I do to improve the speed?

    1. link speed and throughput speed are 2 different things.

    2. The ac1200 speed is aggregate of the 2.4ghz signal and the 5ghz signal. If you're connecting to 2.4ghz the highest link speed is 300mbps, the 5ghz is 867mbps. Again, thats link speed, not throughput.

    3. 2.4ghz is significantly slower than 5ghz. its made worse if you live in an area with a lot of interference.

    4. you didn't put what speeds you are getting on it? 2.4ghz? 5ghz?
