A6210 Stopped working, "Can't connect to this network" on Win10 Pro

Hi

My netgear A6210 adapter stopped working 2 days ago, it randomly disconnected me from the internet and wouldn't let me log back into the network, as upon attempting the connection it would always come up with the message "Can't connect to this network".

I tried so much to get it to start working again, none of the methods in youtube tutorials I watched worked for me.

This included unplugging and plugging it back in, disabling and re enabling it in settings, reinstalling the driver, network resets, forgetting the network, running the troubleshooter which was useless as 90% of the time all it would end up doing was tell me I had no networks on priority/auto connect but that was only because windows itself would take it off auto connect upon giving me the 'can't connect' message, this is also because I had previously tried forgetting the network and reconnecting from scratch.

The other 10% of the time the troubleshooter would still tell me I had no prioritized networks, but it would also tell me there was likely a problem with my driver installation, I find this hard to believe considering I downloaded the latest driver from the NETGEAR A6210 page in that same day, and wiped/reinstalled it multiple times that day as nothing was working.

One thing that eventually worked the next day after hours of frustration was to completely uninstall all netgear software and drivers from my PC and reinstall them with the netgear genie software from which I would connect to wifi through WPS, which I was luckily able to do due to having a laptop and USB for the driver, though I can imagine many people wouldn't be so lucky.

This wasn't even a permanent solution either as when I would restart my PC later on I would keep hearing the windows sound indicating it had been unplugged from my USB port, and it wouldn't show any networks until I unplugged the adapter, waited, and then plugged it back in.

This would happen again the next time I turned on my PC, however this morning when it happened I was back to square 1 as I started getting the "Can't connect to this network" message again and haven't been able to connect to wifi since.

I'm fairly sure this is an issue with the adapter and not with windows 10, as I tried using the adapter with the drivers installed on my windows 7 laptop and that didn't work, I just got a similar error message saying it couldn't connect me.

I have no idea what to do, and have to use my laptop instead of my PC until I either get this fixed or give up and buy a new adapter.

Whoever can help me with this is an absolute saviour and I hope to hear from you soon.

  • I'm having a similar issue. After the last Windows feature update, the adapter stop working completely. I've tried all the methods to fix it, including uninstalling and reinstalling, but when i go to reinstall it, using the latest drivers listed, it always comes up that the computer can't find the adaptor. I've had to resort to using my previous adaptor from years ago, which still works albeit slowly, but it seems that the firmware might need an update soon. Because the recommended installation method no longer works.
