I found the solution and it works great.
I found a video on YouTube that and followed along and My A7000 is connecting.

That would be my move. This has been hanging around since the first Catalina release. Netgear shows no sign of action.
Unfortunately, Macs aren't like Windows, so you probably won't find any hacks out there in the wild.
