A8000 disconnects periodically and won't reconnect without a reset

I had been been searching everywhere for a fix to this issue (not impressed by Netgears lack of caring). After trying everything, and to the point of fantasizing about throwing it against the wall, I found the fix for me.
I logged in to my router and saw that the dongle was only connecting to my 5ghz wi-fi and never the 2.4 ghz. It would connect but shortly after disconnect with any load on 5ghz. I split the frequencies to two different names and only connected to the 2.4ghz and haven't had a single disconnect.
I would like to thank Netgear for motivating me to make more money to invest in a hardwire connection. After the wiring project is complete, I will punt this dongle off the nearest bridge. Do better Netgear.
