Can i get my wna3100 usb adapter to work with a linux operating system?

No its not offically supported. Netgear supports it for windows xp, vista, 7, 8, 10. 

If you google, there's been people who have tried to get it working but you won't find the results on the official netgear forum. You can try some linux forums.
