I uninstalled all the drivers and used a program called driver booster to clean all the old plug in device files offf of my PC and just shut down my PC for the night. This afternoon affteer work, I reinstalled the newest drivers and i've been able to maintain a steady connection since. I had to disable the switchUSB service again but so far so good. fngers crossed.

I gave up just bought an EdiMax for $25, rock solid, no issues.
Yes they do burn out after 6-9 months, but they just work out of the box.
Local store still have 10 left, so I might just stock up on them each visit.
Never going to trust Netgear again in my purchases.
