Installing netgear A1650 WiFi adapter.
trying to add wifi capability to my desktop hp computer that has windows 7.
loads driver software from cd ok.
when i plug in the wifi adapter, the device manager only finds the netgear model number a6150 and puts the device in "other devices". It should put in "Devices".
When i plugin a wireless mouse adapter, the device manager puts it correctly with "mice and other pointing devices" and the mouse works correctly.
Is there a enable/ disable mode?
There is no illuminated LED on the adapter. should there be?
When i went to netgear support they wanted the serial number of the device. i could not recognize the tiny tiny numbers and thus i could not go further.
Will try google.

For some reason, that device is missing from the Netgear support database.
Find it here:
A6150 | Product | Support | NETGEAR
The manual will explain what to expect in the way of lights.

It should be in Network adapters.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers about your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:
