My new NETGEAR Home WiFi Adapter doesn't see my Roku Streaming Stick+ device (OS: Windows 10)
My new Netgear A6210 Home WiFi USB Adapter works well with the internet. The problem is when I click on the "Connect" icon in the Windows 10 Action Center (located at the extreme right corner of my t...

Note, If I restart my ASUS laptop without plugging in the Netgear A6210 Home WiFi USB Adapter but use my laptop's built-in Realtek 8821AE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC adapter, I can see the Roku Streaming Stick+ device available for me to connect to.
I'm puzzled. If your laptop does wifi, what are you expecting the A6210 to do?

Yes Michael I can use the older WiFi but it drops the internet connection and then the adapter disappears, causing me to restart the laptop many times. Very annoying. So I bought the USB Wifi as a solution to having a stable internet connection, which it does. Plus this connection is very fast, which I appreciate. But I still have the same problem as stated in my message above.

Past experience with these things suggests that issues can be down to Windows and its security settings.
Then there is the Roku. Does it have its own SSID and password? (Foolishly, perhaps, I use Google's altermative and try to use a LAN connection whenever possible.)
The adapter can only see things that make themselves visible
Have you tried the Network Troubleshooter in Windows? Most of my experience is with wired networks, but the wizard should also play with wifi. Look out for public and hidden networjs.
Do the Roku experts have anything to say?

Hi Michael. I notice that "Microsoft WiFi Direct Virtual Adapter" is installed automatically when I am successful at connecting to Roku while using my older Realtek WiFi Adapter. This might the problem area concerning NETGEAR A6210 because the Microsoft WiFi Direct Virtual Adapter doesn't get installed when I click on the CONNECT icon from the Windows Action Center on the task bar. What do you think?
