Netgear A6100 Wirless Adapter lag spikes and unplayable ping during gaming
Bought one of these the other day to replace my old tp-link adapter and its been a constant headache since. I'm getting lag spikes up to 4000ms during gaming and usually a 150-200ms delay when gaming, this never happened with my old wifi key and my internet connection is fast so it isn't the router. Only been experiencing these issues since using the new Netgear adapter.

This device first came out in 2013. With AC600 wifi, it isn't exactly the newest wifi technology going. I am surprised that it is still on sale. It isn't something that Netgear sells directly to customers.
And your adapter is plugged into?
In general, wifi isn't recommended for gaming. It can never match wired speeds.
Just another user with time on their hands.

I concur with michaelkenward . You bought a decade old wireless adapter and are having issues with lag/ping and are blaming the adapter. Seems a little like complaining because a 50 year old car doesn't get good gas mileage.
And if its for gaming, hardwiring in your device is what you should be trying to do. Whether that be with ethernet, coax (moca adapters), or powerline, those would be better ways to reduce lag than using wireless
