Netgear A6210 - Lag spikes only when gaming

I use the A6210 as moving the router isn't an option. When watching youtube, normal browsing, there is no lag. However, when I play games, the ping constantly spikes - jumping from 60 to 400 multiple...

Wifi and gaming don't play nicely together.

 

An alternative is to try Powerline Ethernet which turns the mains circuit into an Ethernet network.
