Netgear Genie won't uninstall
Hello, I have a Lenovo Desktop with Windows 10 and installed Netgear Genie and STALONE by mistake--I don't have a Netgear wireless USB adapter. So when I try to uninstall Netgear Genie using 'Control Panel'>'Uninstall a program' I get the following error message:
Error Code: -5006 : 0x8000ffff
Error Information:
>SetupNew\setup.cpp (652)
PAPP:
PVENDOR:NETGEAR (http://www.netgear.com)
PGUID:C2425F91-1F7B-4037-9A05-9F290184798D
$16.0.0.400
@Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 0 (9200)
IE Version: 9.11.19041.0
I tried installing Genie again, but the install program prompts me to connect the adapter to a USB port and click OK. However, when connect the non-Netgear USB adapter, the install program does not recognize it, and end up in an endless loop of install-click OK-install-click OK, etc. I stopped the setup in Task Manager and rebooted my PC, but now I get the error when I try to uninstall the Netgear software. Is there a way to fully uninstall it?
Is there any way I can install
