Netgear nighthawk a7000 wifi adapter troubles

I am using a Netgear nighthawk a7000 wifi adapter for my PC and the internet keeps dropping out for a few seconds and then reconnects while playing games, specifically League of legends. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Where does the adapter get the WiFi from? The router.

     

    Are you sure that the problem isn't there?

     

    The general advice is not to use WiFi for gaming. Easier said than done, but there can be ways around it like Powerline Ethernet.
