Please help! I cannot install my usb netgear WNA3100M adapter onto Dell Window 11 PC

I have downloaded the latest driver setup files from netgear website v1.2.0.9 and try to clean install..  It just get stuck on "detecting adapter" window...  When I go to the device window manager, the adapter is shown under "other devices" and NOT under the Network adapters...  When i open the device, it says that it cannot find the drivers anywhere....

Thanks in advance for any help..

That looks like a Windows issue.

The answer is probably something that Dell can provide.

Have you got the latest updates for whatever chipset the PC uses? The USB drivers for example. This isn't something that you will detect with Windows update.

Have you tried inserting the adapter without installing the Netgear drivers? Windows itself can support some devices.

You should know that the WNA3100M dates back to 2012, long before Windows 10 and 11.

It also has old and slow wifi technology. But that may mean that Windows does not need any extra drivers.
