WNDA3100v3

I've been using the WNDA1003v3 for a little under a year (given by a friend to use that had it) and it's been working fine until last night. My internet dropped, a PC restart got it back up and running for maybe half an hour. Dropped again, unplugged and replugged the USB to have it run for maybe 5 minutes. Further repeats if this situation until it either connects for a couple seconds or not at all. Windows event checker gives the warning of "The network driver did not respond to an OID request in a timely fashion. This network interface has reset (2) times since it was last initialized."

I am currently trying to uninstall/reinstall the driver from both the Netgear Genie and Device Manager, but each gets stuck in a looping load or fails to do anything at all. Considering most help asks I've found online for this product are over a decade old, I'm wondering if I've simply hit the EOL for the hardware and need to upgrade?

Thanks for any help or advice.

I'm guessing that you have the WNDA3100v3 in your subject. This came out in 2014 and is based on an original from 2007. It makes no claim to support Windows versions since 2018.

You don't need the adapter genie to use a USB adapter. That is best handled by Windows networking. So Installing the driver only version might help.

You could even see if Windows comes with drivers that work.

When it comes to removing the old stuff, look for, and remove, the hidden devices in Windows device manager.

    Wifi adapters

Probably the best solution. You'll jump several generations of wifi technology. If this is a desktop PC it isn't that hard to install an internal card that also has bluetooth.
