2 x EX7300 installation
Hello,
Hopefully someone can help give me advice. I am going to install 2 x EX7300 in cottages for a client. They have a line of sight attena's to send the signal from the house to the two cottages...

The dlan 200 is a powerline device. Perhaps the dlan 200 is connecting to the house over powerline (which might work, but would have poor performance), or perhaps the point-to-point antenna system is outputting to powerline (through another dlan 200???)
We need to know the details on the point-to-point antenna setup before we can offer more advice. You'll need ethernet to the EX7300 in order to use it in AP mode, and it isn't clear on the best way to get that.
Also, why does the customer want to keep the dlan 200 system, when the EX7300 would deliver higher speeds to the cottage?
Thanks for replying and I am awaiting the antenna information. The customer doesnt really know how its set up but I have a feeling he has another Devolo plug in the house called "HOUSE". The antenna system has Antenna>cable into a modem then ethernet into plugs, so AP will work
So current set up BT Home Hub > Devolo DLAN200 Powerline Plug HOUSE > Antenna/Modem HOUSE > Antenna/Modem COTTAGE > Devolo DLAN200 Powerline Plug Cottage this then goes to other plug in 2nd cottage.
My suggestion would be BT Home Hub > Antenna/Modem HOUSE > Antenna/Modem Cottage > Netgear EX7300 then use the other EX7300 in the 2nd cottage. This will greatly improve the coverage and performance of the signal etc.
My question is in regards to the 2nd EX7300. I would have to configure this as an extender and use the same wifi network name as "Cottage"? I have done a dry run of this in my house and it worked so wanted to be 100% sure this is right before heading back to the cottage.
Once I get the antenna details I will be back in touch,
Thanks again,
Barry

Ok I have more information. At each end of the antenna there are two access points (Draytek Vigor AP700 802.11n access point). So I could use both EX7300 as extenders?

That is helpful. I'm thinking the Drayteks must be running in Bridge Mode. Given the history, you might want to confirm that the Drayteks are still operational (since it's possible that that the Devolos were deployed because the antenna system failed).
If they are functioning in bridge mode, you'd connect one EX7300 to the Draytek ethernet (in the first cottage), and set it up in AP mode. Then set up the second EX7300 in extender mode (connecting to the first EX7300's client network).
This will likely perform better than the Devolo - once you can demonstrate that to the customer, you could suggest that you match the Devolo SSID and password, and disconnect them.
