The 5ghz is going to be the faster networks. You say thats not connecting?
Did you set it up using the push button WPS option?
If so, factory reset the extender and set it up using the installation assistant.
To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
Here's a video of how to use the assistant.

You can also try changing the 2.4ghz/5ghz channels on the router in case there's interference.

Hey,
I set up my wifi extender years ago and it was fine. When we changed router last week I did the exact same I did before to the best of my memory and it didn't connect to 5Ghz. I factory reset my extender like you said previously too, still no fix. I even changed the name of my 5GHz network and password as I've seen some suggest that may be an issue when changing routers. I tried fastlane too, no help.
How would I go about changing my 2.4GHz & 5GHz on my router settings?- plemansFeb 27, 2023Guru - Experienced User
You'd log in through the primary router to do so.
Also check to make sure that your primary router (not sure the model) doesn't have wpa3 enabled or if it is that its wpa2/wpa3 mixed mode.
