AC1200 Dual band WiFi Range Extender

Hi!  Hope you can help me.

I'm seeing "You have created an access point but did not detect an Internet connection".  

By using Genie help, tried again. Extender was not able to connect to my existing network, seems 2.4G is fine but not 5G. Password is correct. I don't know ACL. So, skip, then, configured everything however back to the not detect internet connection. Is ACL the source of the issue? Do I need to contact my router company to be supported?

    1. AC1200 is a speed not a model. what model are you using

    2. What router are you connecting to? 

    3. Are you trying to setup an access point or run it as a wireless extender? they're 2 different modes. 

    in access point mode, the extender gets hardwired via ethernet to the router or device supplying it internet/dcp

    in extender mode, it connects wireless to the router and rebroadcasts the signal.
