AC1200 ext will connect computers but not smart TV

I set up the extender and my computer connects to it fine, but my smart TV keeps telling me I have the wrong password. I saw in some trouble shooting it suggested the tv was at the maximum range and could not connect, but my TV shows full bars from the extender and the extender is only a few feet away. I've tried factory reset and do it all over again but nothing seems to work.

    If the extender is only a couple feet away, why not hardwire it in? Removing that 2nd hop (router----extender/tv instead of router----extender-----tv) will help latency and speed. 

    What security are you using on the extender for your wifi?

    have you tried changing the password?

      I guess I could try to hardwire it. I’m trying to avoid too many wires if I can. I’m a novice with this so I’m not sure what security I’m using. I’ve tried changing the password and doing factory resets.

        what router are you using? many isp supplied routers are pretty sketchy and I've been seeing them have issues with extenders lately. 

        potentially you could reset (factory reset, not just reboot) the router and the extender and redo your setup.
