AC1750 won't connect to home Comcast wifi network

I'm having trouble connecting this device to my home Comcast WiFi gateway. After I set it up with the WPS buttons and try to connect to the NetGear network it says unable to.

    have you tried installing it using the installation assistant and not using wps?

      Our gateway won't even detect the device. It shows offline and won't connect it.

        Your gateway doesn't connect to the extender. The extender connects to the gateway. 

        Factory reset the extender (push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on). Then install using the installation assistant for the extender. Don't use the WPS option. ISP supplied devices aren't always coded the best and can have issues.
