AC1900 Nighthawk WIFI Mesh extender EX7000 --shows as open network
We have had this extender for 3 months. It extended a two-bend router with no trouble. Recently, after a reset, the extender showed on my lists of available networks as an unsecured/open network. I upgraded software. I went to the settings and saw that the extender was protected with a password. I did smart connection/set up and saw that the the password from the two bends of the router serve as a password for the extender. Yet, when I look at available networks, Netgear_ext still shows as open/unprotected. What to do?

do you live around anyone else that might have an extender? Its the default ssid.
If yours is setup and when you log into it and can check the ssid/broadcast, then it might not be yours.
