Now, initially it was working, but over the last few months I seem to be losing signal to any devices in the area where I had poor signal before I bought this. I have tried a factory re-set as pe...

There is no WPS on my router and with a Nighthawk search I keep getting 'Extender Not Found'

You factory reset the extender?
And then during the install you're not seeing the netgear_ext network?- doubleudeeNov 10, 2023Aspirant
I tried factory reset a few times, intitialy when I plug the unit in and switch on the socket, all the lights come on solid, no flashing or any lights go out (they go out if I press the 'off' button though, but when I press it back on all the lights come on together)? No flashing of any, no stalling of lights waiting to connect, they just all come on and stay on.
If I press and hold the factory reset button in as you suggested, nothing happens, no lights flash or go off, it just stays in the state as when I initially plugged it in.
I think it's dead, as there is no signal from it showing in windows, it does not generate the network that nighthawk can connect to?

I think I've bought the wrong piece of kit, all I want to do is extend the range of my current BT router so I can get wi-fi in the garden.
I just want to have easy set up, there is no WPS button to press on my BT Router so I cannot press a button on that and then within 2 mins press the WPS button on my booster (if that's what I've bought?) I've looked on Amazon and have found other boosters which say to just plug them in and away we go?
What have I bought, I don't wat to get complicated gear as this seems to be, I've followed the steps from the set-up leaflet that came with it to no avail.
Anyone suggest a piece of kit that I can use even if it means I have to bin this.
Thanks
WD

Its not complicated. You don't have to use wps if your router doesn't support it.
Follow the installation guide I posted earlier. that's how to use the assistant and not WPS.
It tends to work better
