AC2300 Nighthawk and Apple Airport extreme router

Hi.  I just recently purchased the Nighthawk AC2300 for my wireless home network.  I currently have three Apple Airport Extreme routers; one in the basement connected to the house modem and two as extenders in the house, and I would like to replace the oldest Apple router with the Nighthawk.  What would be the best scenerio for my home network using this new router?  Should I make the Nighthawk the main router connected to my internet provider or should I just add it into the network as an wireless extender?
