AC750 slow speed.

I have connected a new AC750 Extender successfully.

When I test for upload and download speeds it is running about 25% of the router speeds even when in the same room so interference from structures is not the cause.

Any suggestions/solutions welcomed please.

    A couple things.

    1. are you testing 2.4ghz speed or 5ghz speed?

    2. The AC750 is a 1x1 antenna setup. so if your router and whatever you're testing on is a 2x2 antenna, they're going to have a better link speed and therefore throughput speed by 2x

    3. Also, extenders by their very function drop speeds by 50%. Reason they do this is they have to receive and then retransmit using the same wireless chip. And they can't do both at once. (not true of the tri-bands as they reserver a 5ghz chip just for router---extender communication).

so your speeds could be theoretically 25% of what your getting based on what you're using. you loose 50% because of the receive/retransmit issue standard extenders have and you potentially could loose half of that because its a 1x1 antenna setup and not 2x2 or 3x3 of the higher performing extenders. (1 antenna is for 2.4ghz, the other is for the 5ghz).
