add mesh to C3700v2

Hi, I would like to install a mesh wifi system to improve the Xfinity wifi coverage in my home that currently runs through my C3700v2 cable modem router. Currently I have two basic Netgear Wifi Extenders but they do not always work or work well. I believe a mesh system would impreove coverage but I do not know if I can add this to my C3700v2 cable gateway. Can someone help me with this question?

    The C3700 has a modem only mode that disables its router function. so it'd function strictly as a modem.

    then you'd simply add a mesh system like you would normally.
