Okay guys. I got tp link re815xe axe5400 range extender. I was able to set up using app. I realized that it seemed begin in access mode or a sepearate wifi name. I researched and found that if i removed the ext part of name that i would not have to manually switch between wifis on my phone for example. It switches auto as i wanted depening on range. It seems to be working perfectly. Speed is great as well as coverage! It seems to be working fine and there is 2 out of 3 bars of signal between my router and this extender.
It does not seem like i can use ethernet cable from router to extender. The port on extender only seems to work for devices. Is that right? From looks of my set up, testing range and speeds dont seem like i even need it. Just curious and the fanatic in me wants to have 3 out 3 green wifi bars. Lol

You'd have to ask specifically onthe tp-link forums on changes to it but usually you set it up in access point mode and then hardwire it to the router. Otherwise it defaults to extender mode.
