Auto discovery ?
I have a Netgear R7000 router (running Tomato). It works great.
I have a new Ring Video Doorbell which I am trying to get to have a better relationship with my router.
I've stuck another router between them. This secondary router is acting as a 'redirector'. The two routers share the same SSID/pwd.
This all works fine. If I pull the power on the secondary router, the primary router and the doorbell do not communicate well.
If at any time I plug in the secondary router, the doorbell discovers it as does the primary router.
I would like to replace the secondary router with my newly purchased Netgear EX2700 extender. BUT - The doorbell is installed on the outside of my house and it seems that the EX2700 expects devices to come to it and ask for a new wifi connection - which the doorbell will never do. The EX2700 shares the same SSID/pwd as the routers. The EX2700 never shows devices connected...
Any thoughts appreciated.
