You have your pc wired into the extender?
A lot of things can impact extenders.
It could be distance from the router, it could be interference, it could be obstructions in the walls.
The other deal with using the 5ghz is its more sensitive to distance and obstructions than the 2.4ghz signal. But in turn, the 2.4ghz is much slower and more sensitive to interference from other signals.
Have you tried changing which channel the primary router is broadcasting on?
or moving the extender?
