"Bridge" wnr2000 vr3 with c3700-100nas Wireless modems

Hello and please help!
Ive been messing with computers my whole life, but networking has always been a area of confusion for me.

Im working on possibly getting these two wirerless routers to talk to each other.
Im rather dumb on the techy terms for this, but heres the description of what I want to do.

My C3700 (cable modem) router is upstairs and is fed by the cable then attached to the computer via Ethernet cable.
Im currently getting wireless just fine for the smartphones etc.

However in the family room downstairs, I would like to take my Wnr2000v3 wireless router and "hook it up" to the audio video system.
(Reciever,Tv,Bluray player.)

The wnr2000 has 4 Ethernet ports so that will work on that side.
However,
I need the two modems to talk with each other via wireless.

Is this possible at all?
If not then what modem setup should i get to talk with my C3700?

I apologize for not giving the correct terms, but hope ive relayed my questions clearly.

Thanks for any and all help on this!

  • Hey 71pintoguy,

Ok I think I follow you.

You want your modem and router to talk wireless right?

I think you're going to need something like the WNCE2001 to plug in down stairs. This device grabs the wi-fi signal and redistributes it. plug a Ethernet cable into the WNCE2001 port and then connect the other side to your routers WAN port. This should allow your router down stairs to communicate to your modem up stairs wireless.

Here is a link to check out the product

If you decide to try this come back and post and let me know if this worked for you. :)
