Right. That was a fast reply. Because here is the thing right, i plan to upgrade my current orbi setup from the RBR50 to the 960 series. 1 orbi router and 4 satellites which i believe is the maximum the 960 series allows on a wireless backhaul.
but say i want to use wifi extenders in the new setup.
orbi 960 router -> 4 satellites
and the TP-LINK RE705X (2 or 3 of them)
this will work either way right. it doesnt have to integrate with the orbi but just give wifi to some dead zones.
this setup is possible right?

theoretically it should work.
But dang is that an expensive setup with consumer gear.
Why not check into the business line of go with the insight line of devices? The RBSE960's are almost $600.
You could go with the WAX630EP's for much cheaper, supports POE++, has the business class setup. Probably can get it done cheaper and with the business grade equipment.

yeah i could do that but i have been eyeballing the 960 for a very long time and i finally have the money to put it to work.
but i know for a fact, that i will still have areas that will either have no signal or very weak signal even with the 4 satellite setup.
hence i have the money for the TP-Link's re705x as well. or can you recommend some better extenders for 960 series?- FURRYe38Aug 21, 2023Guru - Experienced User
