can netgear33

Can I use my old netgear33 router with my HughesNet Gen5 as an adaptor to hook up a desk phone?  Also, if I can, will this help my wifi calling on my cell phones?  We live in a very remote area in the mountains and have terrible cell phone service.  We can't afford to get a phone plan so I'm trying to figure a way around it without adding to my monthly expenses.  I have this netgear 33 which I used with HughesNet before they switched over to the Gen5 and I would like to make use of it.  So, anyone, is this possible, and how would I hook it up, anything special I should know.  Thanks in advance, can't wait to hear suggestions.

    netgear33 is your ssid name.

What actual model do you have? (look at the label).

You're wanting to connection your phone to the router?

Are you talking like using your cell phone for wifi calling?

      model is WNDR33400v3

Yes, I want to add a phone and/or use my iPhone to do wifi calling.  Right now, my iPhone works terrible to make calls and my husband's cell phone works sometimes.  We need to have a stronger connection I guess to wifi and I have this router that I thought would help with connections

The problem isn't the router, its using satellite internet. Satellite internet has much higher latencies than cable/dsl/fibre.

So if you're wifi calling isn't working that well when connected to the hughesnet router, adding another router isn't going to help unless its an issue of distance from the router.

Have you checked into Starlink? much faster speeds and lower latency than hughesnet.
