Cannot connect Range Extender WN3000RPv2

Hello - I'm trying to connect my WN3000Rp to my internet and it will not connect.  I've tried to factory reset, and have followed instructions to connect via WPS.  In the same room as modem.  I do not have a network port on my MacBook pro to connect a cable to extender.

When i try and connect to the netgear_ext it shows a "no internet connection". Lights are green on the extender and it lights up as device is connected but I get no access.  I've tried to connect both via iPhone and MacBook with no luck.

Please advise. Thanks

    1. does the modem you're using have an integrated router? What modem is this?

    2. What firmware is on the extender?

    3. Did you try using the installation assistant install method instead of wps? many times wps gets coded different by different manufacturers and doesn't work properly. That's when you follow the installtion wizard setup method.
