Cannot Login Using Default Username & Password following a Factory Reset

I have a PLW1000V2 that I just had to factory reset.  The indication that this worked was that the SSID changed from what I had set it up as when I first installed it to now showing an SSID of "NETGEAR05_EXT."  The challenge I'm having is trying to log into the mywifiext website; the default username and password, based on the documentation that came with the equipment (and many, many posts on this forum) is username: admin and password: password.  Okay, fair enough.  Unfortunately, for some reason, when I try to login to change the SSID back to what I had, it tells me that the username and password are incorrect.  I've been working on this, no kidding, for almost 8 hours and can't figure it out.

When I first installed the PLW1000V2, I did change the admin password, but a factory reset, from what I understand, should have changed back to the default.  No worries, I did try the password that I created when I first installed the equipment and received the same "wrong password" error.

Does anyone have any tips and/or tricks on how to login to the PLW1000V2 after a factory reset?  I've also tried Genie and I receive the same username/password error.  Any help would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.
