Make sure there is not active wifi enable on computer you are using, Disable it
Then use ethernet to the extender and try again

- robertmac1Nov 28, 2015Aspiranthave had the same problem and it took me a long time to solve it. The solution is to 1st of all make absolutely certain that the Wi-Fi is turned off on the computer and secondly I found that I actually turned off my main modem and the mywifiext then worked. Alternatively192.168.1.250 also seems to work. As soon the program comes up on the screen I was then able to turn my main modem on again. If the modem doesn't come on in time it won't have been able to make a connection in which case you have to press the refresh button to have another try. From then onwards everything is fairly straightforward Robert MacLachlan - cattyk76Feb 28, 2016AspirantI tried following what you suggested but when I typed in the web addresses suggested, it said there was no internet connection, obviously because I had turned off wifi and the main modem.... Any other suggestions? Haven't been able to add any new devices into the wifi network for a while now. - DarrenMMar 01, 2016Sr. NETGEAR ModeratorHello cattyk76 Are you able to connect a Ethernet cable to the WN3000Rp and they try to connect to mywifiext.net DarrenM
