Changing Default Network EX3700

I got this device in a bargain bucket so it was worth a shot for a fairly simple task, otherwise I would have gone something more modern as you suggest.
Remember now what I found unusual about the EX3700: it creates virtual MAC addresses for everything connected to the extender.
The EX3700 is connected to an RBR50 which is connected to my primary Orbi network. By default, when an Orbi router is assigned a 192.168.1.x IP address on the WAN port, it creates a LAN subnet of 10.0.0.1 Netgear could have selected any of the remaining 253 private IP subnets in 192.168, but they chose 10.0.0.x.

Notice that the Orbi shows the Virtual MAC address for the tablet, rather then the actual hardware MAC address.
The reason I bring this up is (being a tiny bit OCD) I had created entries in the LAN setup table for most of my devices. When I would connect one of them to the EX3700, it would get assigned a different IP address than the one I had defined. After several rounds of, "Why isn't the LAN Setup assignment working???" (and a lot of swearing), the virtual MAC address turned out to be the reason.
