Changing Default Network EX3700
I'm trying to connect my EX3700 range extender to an existing network with a range 192.168.68.x I can see and connect to my existing SSIDs on the EX3700, but it insists on using it's preferred ra...

I dug the EX3700 out of my "Box of Stuff". Oh, my. Things have changed since 2018 when this device came on the market. WiFi extenders are so inexpensive now that I would be likely to purchase a modern one. Anyway....
Can you verify how this page appears on your EX3700:

Is this EX3700 in Extender Mode or Access Point mode?

Thank you Crimpon ... that's the solution - it was hiding off the bottom of the page!
I got this device in a bargain bucket so it was worth a shot for a fairly simple task, otherwise I would have gone something more modern as you suggest.

Remember now what I found unusual about the EX3700: it creates virtual MAC addresses for everything connected to the extender.
The EX3700 is connected to an RBR50 which is connected to my primary Orbi network. By default, when an Orbi router is assigned a 192.168.1.x IP address on the WAN port, it creates a LAN subnet of 10.0.0.1 Netgear could have selected any of the remaining 253 private IP subnets in 192.168, but they chose 10.0.0.x.
Here are screen shots of
- The router Attached Devices page showing the three devices attached to the network:
- The desktop computer being used to bring up the Attached Devices page (10.0.0.2)
- The EX3700 WiFi Extender (10.0.0.4)
- A Samsung tablet which is connected to the EX3700 (10.0.0.5)
- The EX3700 display of Connected Devices. There being only one (the tablet assigned 10.0.0.5)
Notice that the Orbi shows the Virtual MAC address for the tablet, rather then the actual hardware MAC address.
The reason I bring this up is (being a tiny bit OCD) I had created entries in the LAN setup table for most of my devices. When I would connect one of them to the EX3700, it would get assigned a different IP address than the one I had defined. After several rounds of, "Why isn't the LAN Setup assignment working???" (and a lot of swearing), the virtual MAC address turned out to be the reason.
