I have two EX8000 range extenders. One appears to be working fine but the other one is frequently rebooting itself. The extender that is rebooting itself is basically in-line-of-sight with my router ...

- The modem/router is a COX Communications Panoramic router made Technicolor.
- I used the installation assistant.
- My intention is to set it up in a star configuration.
- As far as I know, the latest. It updated when I first connected them to network.
- When all of the lights are flashing on and off.
Thanks,

what router is it? Technicolor makes a lot of routers. some work well. Others are garbage
"the latest" isn't a firmware number. And assuming can cause be incorrect.
What actual firmware version is on both extenders?

The modem/router is a Technicolor CGM414X
Both extenders have firmware V1.0.1.238 and one of them works fine.

If you disable the one with issues "one wifi" feature and set it with its own ssid, does it stay stable?

I essentially did that by powering down the other EX8000 but to avail.
Now the only light on the extender is the green power light on the back. This has happened at least twice.
Because I am having this problem, I went to register the extender with Netgear and was informed that the extender was already registered to another customer, i.e., it was not new when I received it.
I am now working with newegg to exchange it for a new extender.
