D7000 - Build Mesh with EX8000

Hi, Extremely happy with my D7000 Netgear, only concern is to extend range to cover the garage BUT WITH the same SSID  in other words can the D7000 Netgear manage a mesh network ? ... Could the Ext...

    I don't know what this "current extender" is so cannot advise on whether you can give it the same SSID as the D7000.

     

    All I know is that this works on my R7800 in AP mode. Not that it is something  would do because I see no point.

     


    My objective is to extend my range substantially With a Unique SSID ... and my understanding is that the only solution is a Mesh solution ...

     


    Like I said, you can use the same SSID on different devices on the network but it won't be Mesh. To get that you need a router that supports Mesh and compatible satellites.

     

    Netgear has a raft of Mesh devices. That is what Orbi is all about. Then there are the "MK" devices.

    Your D7000 is a DSL modem/router. If you need that for your Internet connection, you can put it into modem only (bridge) mode and add a Mesh router network.
