D7000 as Extender
An Arris router is provided by ISP - I've got a D7000 / 2 story house and would like to use the D7000 as extender to existing Wifi....from what I can tell, if I wanted to use it as a straight access...

The D7000 is a modem/router from what I'm reading. That means that it will require a cable to configure it. So you would want to put it into AP mode before moving it to where you want connectivity. I'm not able to find out where it will mesh with your network however. Looks like it will become it's own network. Which means a different SSID for upstairs and a different one downstairs.
