DGND3300 as Base station and WNR2000v2 as Repeater HELP please!

I cant figure out how to get the DGND3300 as a Base station and a WNR2000v2 as a Repeater working. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The #1 thing I think it has something to do with is the wireless settings, N and 5ghz, G and 2.4ghz, and me not understanding the difference. I know the wireless settings are supposed to mirror each other exactly wherever possible, such as channel, security, encryption, etc. I also know that when a base station with a repeater, the DGND3300 no longer works in dual band. I dont know whether the WNR2000v2 can repeat what.

The other two things I think I may be screwing up are #2 assigning the proper IP to the repeater, as far as whether its supposed to be within the range of the base station or not, and #3 which MAC address to use for the base station, ie wireless mac, adsl mac, or other (there are three that I can see, and I dont know which is best to use for a repeater.

My high class problems that would be nice to solve later after getting it roughly working are: dont need the repeater to re-broadcast, because I only want to use it to plug in my tv, blu ray player, and xbox through a hardwire in the entertainment center. So, I am trying to learn how to optimize it, like not broadcasting the SSID, not rebroadcasting the wireless signal, etc because I dont need it.

  • before repeating consider you will only have 54Mbps and WEP for encryption .

    or

    change wnr2000 to wn2000rtp/wn3000rpt extender.
