DHCP problems Nighthawk R7000 and Mesh extender X6 EX7700

Hi,

I recently purchased the Nighthawk X6 EX7700 as a range extender for my Nighthawk R7700 router.

EX7700 Firmware Version 1.0.0.222
R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.128

Configurate using the Web GUI works fine and everything works fine for several hours.

But after the several hours I'm running into DHCP problems. While my DHCP range is in 10.x.x.x subnet after a while clients are leased by a 169.254.x.x IP-adres with all network problems and no connection to the internet.

Anyone any ideas?

Thank you very much in advance

Regards, HuubIT

  • What modem/gateway is the R7000 connected to?

with the R7000 having a 10.*.*.* subnet, it makes me think you're running a gateway with its own router functionality.

does your gateway have the R7000 setup in its DMZ? Or the R7000 in access point mode?

I'm living in the Netherlands, so KPN Box 12 is the modem

  • also, did you setup the EX7700 using wps or using the installation assistant?
