DST Adapter 6501 DST LED won't come on

I have a AC1900 Model R7300 DST router that is able to connect to the internet just fine. However the DST 6501 adapter is having an issue connecting. When it first powers on, the Power, DST, and Wifi...

I'm having this same issue after attempting to update the firmware on the adapter, but the proposed resolution doesn't resolve it.  I had first updated the firmware on the R7300 router and it continues to work fine.  When I started the firmware update on the DST6501 adapter, it failed and now the adapter's DST LED won't alluminate at all.  Logging into the router currently shows that the adapter is on firmware version V0.3.0.7NA and the status shows "No remote DST adapters found".  I tried the factory reset to no avail. 

 

Any ideas?

Honestly I just ended up buying another one. I gave up on the original.
